about

Continuing our series of album supporting charitable causes and following on from the success of our previous releases, it's time to present our biggest compilation to date: REMIXEVERYTHING - RETROGAME EDITION!

The feedback we had as soon as we put out the call for artists for this was incredible - everyone has their favourite retrogames and here is something for everyone, whether your childhood gaming was the 8bit computers of the early 80s or the brave new (now retro!) world of things like the dreamcast and xbox!

As always all the proceeds from RemixEverything releases go directly to supporting good causes, and we pride ourselves on being transparent about how the money gets used. You are free to pay whatever you want for this album, but all proceeds will go to The Harvey Milk Arts Center (by way of the Harvey Milk Photo Center) in San Francisco - this albums charity nominated by the artists involved.

This particular charity is one especially selected by the artists, after the death of our good friend Shawn, aka Bloodysnowman. Shawn had a number of tracks on previous releases and was a good friend to many in the scene. He gave his own time to volunteer at his local arts center, teaching electronic music to the young of his community and we felt it an honour to his legacy to dedicate this album and it's proceeds to the community he gave his own time to.

Overlooking beautiful Duboce Park, the Harvey Milk Center for the Recreational Arts is as unique as the Civil Rights leader it was named for. Originally dedicated to the Performing Arts, the building, commonly called “Drama, Dance & Music”, was headquarters for the Performing Arts Division of the Recreation and Park Department since its construction in 1954. Duboce Park itself, has been a location for arts programming since the early 1920’s when the women volunteers of the San Francisco Urban Story League performed puppet shows and storytelling in the park for children.

Harvey Milk Center for the Arts is dedicated to the recreation programing of Visual, Digital, Dance and Performing Arts. They offer youth, adult and senior programing. The top portion of the Center features two levels of the building with 2 separate dance rehearsal rooms, while the park level of the building is the Harvey Milk Photo Center with separate operational hours and separate photo center staff. The 50 Scott Street entrance does feature a sound recording box and recording studio within the Center, along with art classrooms.

Due to ensuring proper donation routes are followed, all donations will be paid to the Harvey Milk Photo Center, based in the same building and serving the same community. More information can be found at www.harveymilkphotocenter.org/donate/

We hope you enjoy this album, and huge thanks and love to all the artists who have donated their time and skill to this project.
